Store Handle Process Biomass
Rubb has been a trusted supplier of of tension fabric building solutions for the energy, mining, minerals, waste/recycling, ports and other industrial sectors. More recently Rubb has been providing facilities to the renewable energy, alternative fuels and biomass power marketplace.
Rubb’s bioenergy storage structures can help clients facilitate coal to biomass conversion projects and provide customers with the ideal environment for the processing, handling and storage of bulk materials. Our technical team offers expertise and experience in the design, engineering and construction of large scale biomass building projects such as E.ON Power Station in Ironbridge.
Ongoing product development of biomass energy buildings ensures that Rubb continues to meet our clients’ demands. Experience and a flexible approach enables us to efficiently overcome challenges, meet changing needs and requirements quickly and cost effectively.
Our unique custom building solutions enable us to handle all types of projects, large and small, from designing, manufacturing and constructing large new plants to extending existing facilities.
"Biomass is biological substances originating from living, or recently living organisms. Biomass for energy refers to plant based material, but biomass can apply to both animal and vegetable derived material. Biomass takes carbon out of the atmosphere while it is growing, and returns it as it is burned. Biomass is a renewable, low carbon fuel. Its production and use also brings environmental and social benefits. Biomass is a sustainable fuel that can deliver a significant reduction in net carbon emissions compared with fossil fuels."

Multiple Door Options
Rubb offers a variety of different door solutions. They can be selected and designed to suit all opening requirements. This flexibility ensures that our clients get the best option for their selected Rubb biomass energy facility type, depending on their operational needs.

Customisable Features
Biomass processing and storage buildings can accommodate all types of door, ventilation and other systems and safely support high loads imposed by overhead cranes, ceiling-mounted HVAC and fire-suppression systems, fall-protection equipment and other superimposed loads.

Flexible and Cost-Efficient Foundation Systems
Rubb biomass storage warehouses can accommodate many foundation options such as concrete up-stand, ballast weights, and ground anchors into an existing surface. Rubb co-ordination with the groundwork contractor is key for the client to reach the most cost effective solution.

Low Maintenance / Low Costs
Our high-quality membrane materials and post-production galvanized welded frames deliver durability over time, making the cost of maintaining Rubb biomass buildings more economical compared to conventional structures.

Energy-Efficient Roof Membranes
Translucent membranes allow natural daylight to illuminate the biomass processing space while the white roof surface reflects heat. Optional Thermohall® insulation minimises heat transfer, prevents condensation and virtually eliminates thermal bridging and air infiltration.

Rapid Construction, Installation and Relocation
Rubb biomass storage buildings can rapidly designed, manufactured and constructed due to module pre-fabrication. Rubb can provide site supervisors or fully dedicated construction teams to complete any custom project.

Reduced Time On-Site
Our established supply chain streamlines co-ordination of delivery and installation. Pre-fabricated elements and the ability to construct our buildings in a variety of weather conditions speeds up the construction process.

Comprehensive Long-Term Service
Rubb personnel are on hand to provide help and support, from initial contact to quotation, installation and beyond. Rubb’s commitment to customer service continues after project completion and forms the basis for long-term customer satisfaction.
Biomass projects
With over 35 years experience designing, manufacturing and constructing handling and biomass storage buildings, spanning many different applications, Rubb has built up relationships with many high profile biomass clients across the globe.
