FX Type Building for Vio Ljusfabrikk in Sweden

Rubb AS has supplied a Rubbhall type FX Thermohall building to Vio Ljusfabrikk in Sweden. The building is 12m wide x 21m long with 4.2m side walls. Rubb also supplied a 3m x 4m roller door, a personnel door and a dehumidifier.

Vio Ljusfabrik is based in Vedum, Sweden, and is the country’s largest supplier of candles of high quality in traditional finish. The company has a large customer base ranging from shops, wholesalers, restaurants, churches and the military.


THA Type Building Olawa, Poland

This THAB Type building was erected in late spring 2010 for an automobile recycling company in Olawa. The building measures 8m x 21m long and is used to store automobile parts while keeping them out of the elements.

FX Thermohall for Larsen Atterås og Brosvik AS Mongstad, Norway

Rubb AS has supplied a Rubbhall type FX Thermohall which is 10m wide x 21m long with 4.2m side walls. The building is insulated with Rubb’s patented "Thermohall" system. The structure was constructed with 4 doors, two in each gable end.

The Rubb Thermohall was supplied to Larsen Atterås og Brosvik AS (LAB AS) at Mongstad just outside Bergen. Larsen Atterås og Brosvik AS is a leading construction company on the West coast of Norway with a head office in Bergen. The company primarily carries out construction work in the Bergen area but also at other locations on the west coast of Norway.

Training Facility for National Police Improvement Agency, UK

Police in the Midlands have a new specialist operations training facility thanks to Rubb Buildings Ltd.

The project for the UK’s National Police Improvement Agency was completed on June 25, 2010. Rubb Buildings worked with main contractor Galliford Try to provide an 8m x 8m building featuring 3m sidewalls and double doors with a 4m long canopy which extends over the front entrance.

The structure is located at a Police Training College in the Midlands.

NV Type Building for CCB Coast Base Ågotnes, Norway

Rubb AS has supplied an NV Type building measuring 20m wide x 39m long with 3m side walls to CCB Coast Base at Ågotnes outside Bergen. This structure, along with a similar building (20m x 33m type NV), has been rented out by Rubb to CCB Coast Base. The building is supplied with 2 folding doors which measure 5m x 5m which each have integrated personnel doors.

CCB is a coastal base for the Tampen area of the North Sea oil business. CCB offers a flexible terminal where customers can get complete logistics solutions. The base has a deep 800m long harbour to handle the largest of vessels. There is also a large terminal area and a Ro-Ro harbour. Machines and equipment are on hand to handle any type of goods both inside and outside. CCB also carries out customs clearance and general transport services.


College on Track for Sports Hub, Torbay, Devon, UK

College on Track for Sports Hub, Torbay, Devon, UKPAIGNTON Community and Sports College is looking forward to the completion of a new multi-sports hub.

Rubb Buildings Ltd won the contract through a competitive tender process and the facility will be located in Torbay, Devon, in the UK.

The 42m span x 69m long structure will cater for all indoor sports including badminton, volleyball, tennis, football, trampolining and netball. In a first for the company, the building will also feature a lift shaft. Rubb is working with main contractor Mansell to provide the sports hub, which is due for completion in August of 2010.

NV Type Storage Facility for DST Leconfield, Normandy Barracks, UK

Rubb geared up to deliver a military quad bike storage facility to DST Leconfield. Installation of the 20m x 20m NV building was completed at the site in June. The NV features 5m x 5m roller shutter doors at each gable end and will be used to store quad bikes.

Rubb Buildings Ltd worked with the main contractor Carillion to bring the facility to the Defence School of Transport at Normandy Barracks, near Beverley. Leconfield DST is the center of excellence for driver training and teaches up to 14,000 people every year to drive trucks, tanks and other military vehicles.

The NV type building comes from Rubb’s first range of trussed span structures. The design originated in Norway and the high arch of the roof makes this building ideal for bulk storage.


BVE Type Storage Facility for the Town of Sanford, Maine USA

Rubb has recently finished fabrication for a new salt storage facility for the Town of Sanford, Maine. After two years of providing several options to the town, a 70ft (21.34m) x 80ft (24.39m) BVE Rubb structure with 16.4ft (5m) sidewalls was chosen.

The structure is designed to 70 psf ground snow load and 90 mph wind load with a 3 psf collateral. The Town of Sanford likes the Rubb design as the white roof provides a naturally lit interior and the structure provides flexibility for growth. This structure will provide a salt storage capacity of 2,686 tons. The leg trusses and gable columns will be powder coated to provide another layer of protection from the highly caustic aspects of salt.


New Sliding Door for NV Type Building, RAF Waddington, UK

The experts at Rubb Buildings Ltd held the key to designing a new door for a hangar at RAF Waddington.

The 20m x 33m NV type building was originally manufactured with a Fast Jet Door to house various aircraft. This style of door required three men on the ground and the pilot to move the aircraft in and out of the hangar.

Then Rubb came up with a plan to reduce the ground staff to just one man. This involved designing and equipping the facility at the UK base with a bespoke 17.5m x 6m sliding door. The new door is fully insulated in keeping with the insulated building which features an inner skin, electrical kit and heating. The project was completed on May 6, 2010.


FX Building for Electronics Components Company, Bielawa, Poland

Rubb Poland is the first Rubb company to sell and install a Hallmaker FX Type building. Most of the steel for the 30m wide x 50m long FX building has already been erected. Both the steel and the PVC membrane are manufactured in Poland to Rubb AS specifications.

The structure is calculated to 250 kg/m2 snow load and 40m/sec wind speed. The building has been ordered by by a customer who already has a 20m x 30m Rubb NV type structure. This is a company that supplies components for the electronics giant LG Electronics. The FX is located in the town of Bielawa.
